Sourdough Starter is proud to support The Bread & Butter Project - Australia’s first social enterprise bakery.
Founded in 2013, the project has invested 100% of its profits into providing training and employment pathways for people seeking refuge, who aspire to become bakers.
This year, The Bread & Butter Project will have graduated 100 refugees from its program.
This program has been shown to have lasting intergenerational impact, and helps boost trainees’ prospects of successful resettlement and employment - while building a strong sense of belonging in the Australian community.
Trainees at The Bread & Butter Project undertake a 6-8 month traineeship which includes on-the-job training, TAFE accreditation, English-language tutoring and job readiness support. The Bread & Butter Project then supports trainees after graduation to secure employment with like-minded organisations who are passionate about creating a diverse and empowered workspace.
Sourdough Starter is proud to donate $1 from every order to The Bread & Butter Project.
All donations will directly fund their program, helping their refugee trainees begin a new life here in Australia.
